Simply amazing

I have the most amazing job, the most amazing boss, the most amazing boyfriend, the most amazing friends, the most amazing family, the most amazing life.
My life is so perfect at this moment that it scares me a little! =)

And I'm back!!

I'm sorry I took so long to write here again, I've just been too busy living a great life...
Let me start by summarizing 2011. It was a great year indeed! A whole year on my own, dedicated all for myself, doing everything I LIKE to do, not trying to please anyone but me! It sounds a little selfish I know, but for the past years I was always trying to please someone else, putting myself aside. 2011 was different though, I did so many cool things, met so many cool people, visited so many cool places, it was an extraordinary year for me! I literally haven't been this happy for a long time! I feel like I've waken up from a coma. Not that my life was bad before, because it wasn't, but it's just so much better now!

I used to have a lot of new year's resolutions in the past, so many things I wanted to change, and now the only new year's resolution I have is to start eating healthier, no more candy for me, and so far it's working really well. I also have a lot of traveling planned, and that's about it for now. Working is going great, health, family, friends and heart doing just as fine =)

So cheers to a great 2012!

Santa Claus is coming to town!

It's not Santa Claus, but it's my blueberry Muffin! She gets here on Thursday I can't wait!! Really!

My new job is awesome!! I'm learning soooo much!! My boss is super cool, the people I work with are amazing, I love it!!
My former boss from DirecTV contacted me, she wants me back! But I don't wanna go back. I wasn't learning anything, it was a very laid back job. The people were very nice and I made great friends. However, this is my time to learn, grow and shine! DirecTV is a great company and it was a great experience, specially because I had just moved here, so it was good to have a job that didn't required much and paid well, but I'm a gemini... I like to learn and be busy =)

I've been hanging out with awesome people =) I'm extremely happy! My life is so nice and peaceful that it scares me sometimes! Ha! I looooveeee it!!

I have a lot of things planned for Mafe's visit. Yay!!

Hello there!!

Wow, it's already March and I haven't posted anything here! Thanks wehaveyoda.blogspot.com for forcing me to sign in haha!
Life has been great! New Years in Vegas was a lot of fun! I had a blast with the girls. The drive there is very pretty, I'm actually going back on 03/19. There's a Bon Jovi concert at the MGM and of course I wouldn't miss it for the world!

As many of you know I went to Florida for President's day. I had the best time with my friends and my mom! It felt really good to be home, and that's exactly the feeling I had, the "I'm home" feeling. I guess I lived in Florida for so long that it's my official home. Every time I go to Brazil I feel like I'm on vacation, I don't belong there anymore, but as soon as I came out of the Fort Lauderdale airport it felt like home! I guess I'm really a gringa, haha and I'm very proud of it!
I've been meeting a lot of people. Every single time I go out I meet someone new, people are extremely friendly. Plus they think it's so cool that I'm from Brazil! They love my accent, haha. This is so funny 'cause since everyone in Miami has an accent nobody really cares. But here, I'm a "Superstar" haha, they ask all sort of questions about Brazil. It's really weird... you would think people here are used to different cultures since there are people from all over the world, but no, they are very intrigued about non-American people.

Well, I do have news about work... this lady that works with me at DirecTv knows the traffic director at SiTv and he told her about this position that was going to open up and asked if she knew anyone... so she referred me =) Yay, I went for an interview and guess what?? I start next Monday! I'm very excited about it, SiTv is a great growing network, they have an office here in LA, one n NY and will eventually open one in Miami. There's a lot of opportunities for me to grow and the pay is really good too. I’ll be doing the online traffic, which is great because I've been wanting to learn online. I'm very excited about it!! Things are going really well for me here!! I guess dear Baby Jesus really loves me! It was the right move at the right time!

I'm here

I've been getting complaints about my lack of posts haha. Here I am!!
There's not much to tell... Everything is going wonderful! I've met some new cool people and have been hanging out and having a great time with them =) I went to a Luis Prima Jr's concert, he sings "Jump, Jive and Wail", it was pretty cool. In reality my friend wanted to take me to some independent rock concert, but since there was nothing playing he took me to see this guy at the Viper Room (the place that was first owned by Johnny Deep and that River Phoenix OD right in front of it). I had a great time!

I have a friend coming for Christmas and staying for New Years and another one coming on the 30th. We are gonna drive to Vegas for New Year's! Yay! We are staying at the Luxor. I can't wait! I went grocery shopping today and all I bought was lots of wine and champagne! Trying hard to be healthy here!! Haha!

The most important thing I have to tell is that I am EXTREMELY happy here!! I love, love, love my new life! I do miss my friends and co-workers a lot, but my life is beautiful, peaceful, wonderful!

I love and miss you all! Thank you for the love and support always! I'm definitely the luckiest girl in this planet!
I pray we can all have a great Christmas and an amazing New Year! May God bless our lives and let us be HAPPY FOREVER!!!

Yay

I had a great Thanksgiving with new friends and old friends that I love. I've been feeling so peaceful and happy!
I went to the LA car show, to San Diego and a bunch of other cool places. Can't wait for my guest to arrive on friday! =)

Che Pazzo!!

I'm afraid this job is gonna make me lazy... there's not much work to do. I'm constantly on Facebook... I don't like that, the hours go by very slowly :S I'm used to the craziness at Sony, I miss that! Sometimes I would go a whole day without even checking my personal email...
Other than that everything is going extremely well. I've been going to the gym regularly, I'm lifting heavy weights on my legs, I'm starting to see a tiny, tiny change ha! I'm also doing kickboxing and yoga, it feels really good!!
I've met some new cool people, I'm very excited about that. The funniest thing is where I met these people... in the line at IKEA haha. I'm sure it was meant to be! Who makes friends at IKEA?! Only la loooocaaaaa ha.
I have friends coming to visit on Thursday, they are staying with me for Thanksgiving, and another friend is coming on the following Friday. Two weekends on a roll with friends in town, I love it!!
It's starting to get a little chilli, but the weather here it's beautiful! I always heard that the weather in LA is beautiful and now I can speak for myself, it is amazing! I love it!
It's weird how I only speak English now... no Portuguese, no Spanish... sometimes the Spanish comes to the tip of my tongue at work and I have to stop myself. We went to a Peruvian restaurant the other day and my co-workers were trying to say some words in Spanish to the waiter... it was the funniest thing ever! They are really, really cool!! I'm very lucky! I can't even say my "que looocoooo". I told them about it and we decided that I should say it in Italian, so we googled it and now my new thing is to say "Che pazzooooo". I love it!!

I like to walk

I love the fact that I can walk everywhere...
Yesterday I walked to the gym then at night to a sushi restaurant for dinner. Today I walked to church, to the gym, to the museum... I love it!! I can walk to the grocery store, CVS, Walgreens, FedEx, Post office, Office Depot, Staples, Starbucks, Blockbuster, and many other places. I could walk to a few places in Florida too, but first was too hot, second there was nobody else on the street, so all the car were staring and honking their horns :S. Over here I'm just one more person walking on a busy street. I love it, love it, love it!!

Halloween

Alice was in LA this weekend. Halloween was fun, Christian took me to a party at his friend's house.
I rejoined the gym! I worked out really hard today, I know I'll be very sore tomorrow, but it's a good pain.
Slowly I'm getting my life back on track =)

I thought I was already out of tears to cry this year... but apparently I still had some left.
My sister left today =( We had an incredible time together. I wish she could have stayed longer, it's hard being an adult.
The good news is that my friend Isaac is in town for two weeks, my friend Cris will be here this Saturday and will come back next Friday to spend the weekend with me and my friends Leandro and Cintia are coming for Thanksgiving! Yay! =) I love guests!

My sister is here, I'm just so happy! We are having a great time doing all the tourist activities, after all I'm kind of a tourist myself.
I've been everywhere, my favorite was the Kodak Theatre tour, it's amazing. They let you sit on the chairs and step on the stage so you can have the feeling of an Oscar night. I love it! That alone was a dream come true to me.
The view form the Griffith Observatory is beautiful! The beaches are amazing... she's loving it. I wish she could stay longer.
I finally got a TV and a Playstation 3, my apartment is almost done, I'm very excited about it. It's looking really cozy.
I was summing up how much I spend in the move and it's not bad at all. Between shipping my things, gas and hotel I spent a total of $815.00. Better than the $1,000.00 I would pay just to ship the car alone. Good deal!! =)

What's new?

My sister gets here tomorrow. Yay, I can hardly wait.
Work is good, not stressful at all! Maybe that's what I need for now, I've been through enough stress this year already.
Saturday was Samia's 30th birthday, she had a nice dinner party at a friend's house in La Canada, about 40 minutes from the city. The place is up in the hills, at night gets totally foggy, I couldn't see a thing. It's pretty cool, just like the vampire movies haha. I met a bunch of cool people, all of her friends and family were very nice.
I later went to Santa Monica and met up with Sam (the intern from Sony who's also living here), we went to an Irish pub and a karaoke bar, it was so much fun. Slowly I'm meeting new people and making new friends =)
Everybody I've met so far has very cool jobs in the entertainment industry, like Samia's neighbor who's a songwriter and Sam's friend who's an extra in Dexter.

On my way back from work today I saw the LAPD in action. They were arresting a guy, there were many police cars and a helicopter. I love it!

So far so good! I'm loving the LA life =)

Life is good!!

Eaaaasy

The first day of work was very nice, people were very friendly and the work was extremely easy! I know all the lingo and how everything works, so it was a piece of cake. The guy who trained me was impressed of how quickly I got it =)

I thought I had it easy at Sony, but here each employee has their own TV on their desk, and we can watch whichever channel we want haha. I was watching the food network all day.

Things couldn't be going any better. Thank you dear Baby Jesus!!

Busy Bee

I've been all over the place in the last few days. It's good to have days off. I finally got my license plate and driver's license yesterday. Yay! Yesterday I also went jogging at the Runyon Canyon, it's really hard!! Lots of hills, my legs are sore.
Today I went jogging in Malibu, what a beautiful place! I wish I lived there. Then I went to the Jack Johnson's concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The place is really cool, it's all open, people can bring their own food and have pic-nics. It's a great vibe! The concert was amazing, the guy is fantastic!

Brrrr

It's getting cold here. It's around 65... it's good for a change, plus I get to use all my winter clothes haha.
I finally got my fridge today and was able to go grocery shopping. I went to Costco, the store is huge!! I also went to "Ralphs"which is the L.A's Publix. It's very nice, but I will sure miss my Publix.
Tomorrow I get a California Driver License =) I will officially be a California girl then. I was able to keep my insurance at the same rate. Let's see how much it will cost to change the car registration...

First night

First night at the new place =) I'm extremely happy!
Power got connected today, Internet will be connected on Wednesday.
I've been running around like crazy, buying all the stuff for the house, returning stuff, it's a non ending process. It feels so good to buy everything new. This is the second time I do this in my life and the funny thing is that I bought some of the same stuff I used to have. I guess my taste doesn't change that much...

Sunday

No matter where you are, Sundays are always Sundays, it has a different vibe, it smells like Sunday =) You just step outside and you know it's Sunday!

I got a bed today, yay! Tomorrow they will turn the power on so I will finally be able to sleep at my new place. It's so nice here at Samia's house though, I think I wanna stay a little longer LOL. Christian is coming over and we are gonna go have Yogurt, probably at Pinkberry, I love that place, there are stores everywhere, I'm so glad. I'm also addicted to the In-N-Out burgers, they are so yummy! I promise I'll change my lifestyle, I'll start to eat healthier and exercise. I just have to get all these cravings out of my system first haha.

Shopping

Today I went shopping for things for my new house. It feels so good =) I went to Ikea and used part of the gift card my dear friends gave me before I left, I went to Target and used the gift card Cindy gave me, and then I went to Marshalls and spent my own money hahaha. Tomorrow I'm gonna go get a bed. Probably at Macy's since there's no City Furniture or Rooms to go around here.
There's everything else though. I even saw a Krispy Kreme =) I went to the Ikea store in Burbank, the mall there is huge! Everything here is big. My GPS started to act up and I panic for a bit... thank God I have my Iphone. What would I do without all this technology? How did our parents survived? LOL
I'm now getting ready to go to a b-day party at a karaoke place in Koreatown, yay I love karaoke!!

I know a place where the grass is really greener =)

Today was a great day!!! I got hired by DirecTv, I start next week. I also found a place to live.
After looking at 10 different places I finally found one with everything I needed, except for a refrigerator hahaha, the apartments here don't always come with a refrigerator... But it's all good, I'm gonna look for one on craigslist.
They are giving me half off on the first month, so that is the money I will use for a refrigerator and a bed LOL Lucky me!

I had lunch at Pink, a yummy hot dog place, went to Venice beach and saw all the lunatics. It's so much fun. They probably think I'm crazier than them, because I walk around with a smile on my face. Everyone is so nice! I was meant to be here, I'm beyond happy!! I did happy hour with Christian, and had a great time! His friends are really nice and guess what??? I'm going to be their neighbor!!! Yay!!

Life is definitely good =)

Lost

I'm still a little lost. This city is so big, I never know which way to go. Thank God I have a GPS.
I saw a bunch of apartments today but didn't really like anything... It's hard to find something nice. I did find a cute one in Beverly Hills, everything was great except for the bedroom that could barely fit a bed... I have more appointments tomorrow, hopefully I'll find the one.
I also submitted my resume to a few places... Let's wait and see. It's nice to have this time off though. At least in the beginning as I need to get everything in order.

Overall I'm loving it. Just being here makes me happy. I can't wait for my sister to come visit me, she got in Fort Lauderdale today.

I'm finally here

The Road trip was fantastic! We started driving on Friday night, we drove for 3 hours and got tired already, so we decided to stop in Orlando. We met up with friends and had an awesome time!! We only slept for 3 hours before starting driving to New Orleans, but it was totally worth it!! =)

We left Orlando on Saturday morning, drove by Alabama, Mississippi, and arrived in Louisiana around 6pm. We had enough time to go out and get to know the city. New Orleans is... different I would say. I felt a heavy energy in the air, there were a lot of adult entertainment bars, and the city was a little dirty. It's definitely not my favorite place to be.

The next day we drove to Texas. What a beautiful state! We stopped in Houston, a gorgeous town, and slept in Santo Antonio. Santo Antonio is amazing. I think it's my favorite city from the whole trip. There's a place called River walk, that has bars and restaurant around this beautiful river. It's incredible!

The next day we drove to El Paso and had lunch there. The city is very poor, it's hard to believe you are in the United States. It's so close to Mexico that at one point my phone got the signal of a Mexican phone company. Except for El Paso the whole driving through Texas was beautiful. The speed limit is 80, I got a little carried away and got pulled over by a cop, now I have to call the judge... go figure...

We drove through New Mexico, where we got stopped by the boarder patrol and had to show our passports and visas. The drive to Arizona was amazing. The sky looked fabulous with its pink color. The weather was hot and dry, very dry. Phoenix is a very pretty city, we spent the night there.

The next day before we continued our drive to Los Angeles, we saw a nice church and decided to stop... only to find out they were having a viewing in there. There were mariachis, etc. Pretty interesting!
It was a nice drive through the desert and mountains. I did the driving, that way I wouldn't get car sick from all the curves.

We finally got in L.A. the feeling is hard to explain. This is my new home now!! We drove around for a bit before stoping for lunch at Third Promenade Street in Santa Monica. I took the girls to the airport and got to my new temporary home. Christian and Samia were waiting for me, they are beyond nice. I am extremely lucky to know so many great people. Samia's apartment is beautiful!! She had everything ready for me, I didn't have to worry about anything.

Today was my first day here, I accomplished a lot. Got an oil change, went to the mall, where the were recording the Mario Lopez show "Extra". I got invited to be part of audience, later on he interviewed Felicity Huffman, it was pretty cool. I went grocery shopping and am finally settling down.

I'm very happy to be here. I'm just anxious to have my life in order soon.
